Frequently Asked Questions...
WHAT HAPPENS AT A TRIAL?
A trial is essential for both you and your stylist to give peace of mind on how your bridal hair and/or makeup will look on the day itself. Either your stylist will come to you dependant on whom you have booked, or you will go to them at their home studio. Your stylist will ask you to bring a photo of your dress as well as any inspiration images of hair and makeup you think will suit you and what you are comfortable with. At the trial your stylist will then have a chat about your comforts and with her skill and expertise start creating a look that will be tailored to you. It also allows you both to meet and discuss your wedding planning details. You can also bring with you any hair accessories or veil you may be wishing to use on the day.

HOW LONG DOES A TRIAL LAST?
A trial for hair/makeup only usually lasts between 1.5- 2 hours. Hair & Makeup trials last around 3- 4 hours.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A TRIAL?
We advise booking a trial 4- 6 months before the wedding date. This allows you time to really establish your wedding details & find your dress. It also gives enough time for you to make sure we are the right stylists for you, and should we need to book in any additional trials to add hair extensions etc we have enough time. We can of course have a trial much earlier and a touch later depending on your circumstances.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME FOR THE TRIAL?
Yes you can bring someone with you for a trial, it can help with having a second opinion and for moral support. However more than 1 person can feel too much and detract away from you. Additional people can also have trials if they wish alongside you, but we recommend no more than one other person for the same reason.
HOW DO I SECURE MY BOOKING?
To secure your booking we need a non refundable £100 deposit. This secures your wedding date with your stylist and any ongoing email work. The deposit is redeemed off of your final wedding balance so there is no additional costs involved. Trial payments are separate to the deposit and final wedding balances. For any other payment & booking information please head to our terms and conditions page.

IF I HAVE A LARGE BRIDAL PARTY - CAN EVERYONE BE DONE IN TIME?
Absolutely! We here at Amanda White Professionals have a team for a reason. We love bigger bridal parties! Comfortably for each stylist we can do 6 services (eg 3 x hair and makeup) each depending on your ceremony time. So for every 6 services added, we just add an assisting/ second stylist from the team. Our biggest party to date was 18 people for hair and makeup, which had 6 of us from the team!

HOW LONG DOES HAIR/ MAKEUP TAKE ON A WEDDING MORNING?
For bridal hair & makeup we usually allow 2- 2.5 hours depending on what style you are requiring. For any additional members of your bridal party we allow 1.5 hours for hair and makeup. Or 45 minutes per service.
WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?
Each member of the team has an extensive kit with varied branded products. We all love having varied brands as we feel that not one brand suits all people. We use all high end, good quality hair and makeup products, such as Armani, Bumble and Bumble, Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Mac, Moroccan Oil, Nars, Osis and many more. We can also advise which products may or may not be suitable for allergies and any skin conditions.
WILL I HAVE TO HAVE LOTS OF MAKEUP FOR MY WEDDING PHOTOS?
We never want any of our clients to not look or feel like themselves. However due to the nature of wanting your makeup to last quite a while for the duration of your wedding day, some products may be a touch heavier than you are used to, or pigments slightly stronger so it shows up beautifully in photos. It may feel a touch different, as its a professional doing it for you, rather than your everyday routine. Having said that, we will always be guided by you and how you feel, so if it's too much we can always tone it down. Our main goal is for you to always feel like you.
WILL MY MAKEUP COME OFF IF I CRY?
Weddings are emotional events, so happy tears are always expected. Every single team member carries only waterproof mascara, which is a necessity for wedding makeup artists. We also use high performing primers which can help hold foundation in place alongside highly pigmented eye shadows and liners, as well as setting spray. We always say to our clients though that where possible dab the tears rather than wiping them :)
ARE LASHES INCLUDED?
Individual lashes are included as standard in our bridal makeup pricing. We also fit strip lashes free of charge, but the client would need to supply these themselves. We do not do reductions on pricing should someone not require lashes.
WHERE DO YOU TRAVEL TO?
The team are located in the home counties of Surrey, London, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire & Essex. We do often travel outside of these areas. If a journey exceeds 1.5 hours travel time then an overnight stay would be required the night before which would be an additional charge alongside a dinner fee of £20 per stylist. We also travel overseas as well, all details of these packages can be found here.
